    Protur Chef 2018 Program
    From everyone here at Protur Hotels, we’re very proud to present PROTUR CHEF, the 2nd edition of our national culinary class competition which will take place from 15th-18th of March at the Protur Biomar Gran Hotel & Spa in Sa Coma, Majorca.

    It’s a very exciting event where you’ll find the best dishes made by some of the most promising names in culinary arts in Spain with an adults’ cooking competition, the 2nd edition of the children’s cooking contest, ‘PROTUR CHEF KIDS’, and other similar activities such as a gastronomy market with food stands, workshops, food-tasting stalls, food trucks as well as special guests that include well know Michelin starred chefs.

    If cooking is your passion then ‘PROTUR CHEF’is the event for you, where you’ll have the chance to see Spain’s future best chefs among the 18 participants. Contenders have to prepare a dish with shoulder of Majorcan lamb as the main ingredient, but each adding their own personal & original take on the dish.

    As well as the ‘PROTUR CHEF’ for adults, we also have ‘PROTUR CHEF KIDS’ where 18 contenders aged from 8 to 12 also compete.

    Final with the 6 best KIDS contenders at 10am

    Final with the 6 best contenders at 11am

    Prize-awarding ceremony Adults & Kids at 1.30pm

    PROTUR CHEF is priviledged to enjoy the collaboration of an illustrious judging panel boasting the biggest names in the culinary arts Tomeu Caldentey, Marc Fosh, Marga Coll, Silvia Anglada, Paco Roncero, Toni Tugores (food critic) and many more… They will be faced with the difficult task of judging each dish and selecting, at every stage, what they consider to be the best creations.

    We are once again pleased to say the we will enjoy the company of Koldo Royo as compere. In addition to the PROTUR CHEF & PROTUR CHEF KIDS competitions, the days will be packed full of different activities where visitors can enjoy gastronomy in many forms such as workshops and food & wine-tasting stalls..

    Visitors over 18 years old can also take part in a variety of workshops, with a maximum of 20 places in each at the Protur Biomar Gran Hotel & Spa on 18th March. (Book your place by phone 971 812 010).

    The prices are per person per workshop.

    *In these workshops each participant has to bring their own oven tray.

    Children’s workshop (free) from 6 years old (children aged between 4-5 years old must be accompanied by an adult). These workshops will take place in the lounge bar.

    Children’s ‘tapas’ decoration workshop from 11am till 1 pm

    Children’s biscuit decoration workshop from 4.30pm till 6pm

    In addition, there will be a carefully selected number of stands with representatives from different companies offering a variety of products, open all day Saturday from 10am till 8pm (entrance free of charge ) and on Sunday from 10am till 1pm. The stands available include: Son Mesquidassa, Estrella Damm Beer with Protur Hotels tapas, Carrito Donuts, Licores Moyà, TGT Cheeses, Can Company, José Abellan, Ca Na Mora Distillery Porto Cristo, Ametl.la + Gemma Bes, Formatges Margalida Vidal, Espécies Crespí, Delicias de la Cueva Porto Cristo, Chocolates Blanxart, Dolça Pastisseria ATB, culinary art exhibition…..

    PROTUR CHEF also offers a number of food trucks at midday on Saturday with different dishes for visitors to try: El perrito callejero (Koldo Royo), La Pick-Up Pepito de Porc Negre, Taleca Caravana, Variat Mallorca, Toni’s Food Truck, and many more.
