THE NATIONAL COOKING COMPETITION ‘ PROTUR CHEF’ HAS ESTABLISHED ITSELF AS A KEY DATE IN THE CALENDAR OF THE BEST CULINARY SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY. IN IT’S 2ND EDITION THE NUMBER OF THOSE WHO WISH TO TAKE PART IN THE COMPETITION, THAT WILL BE HELD IN MARCH, HAS DOUBLED.
Palma de Mallorca, February 6th 2018. After the success achieved in its first edition, the National Cookery Competition ‘Protur Chef’ has become a key date in the national calendar of the most prestigious cooking schools, with eleven autonomous communities having requested to take part in this second edition.
On the 15th, 16th, 17th & 18th of March , Sa Coma in the Balearic Islands, will become, for a few days, the gastronomic capital of the country, taking into account applicants & technical staff. There will be a pre-selection of 18 participants using the criteria of quality & presentation, among others.
The competition is aimed at culinary school students, in their second year or more, and is free. The three finalists are offered a paid internship at one of the Protur Hotels, as well as a cash prize and a free one-week stay for 2 people.
The competition will be conducted by the prestigious local chef Tomeu Caldentey, the first Majorcan to be awarded a Michelin star at his restaurant Es Molí den Bou.
Mr. Caldentey has revealed that the contest will again enjoy the opinions of a luxury jury featuring well know chefs, with Michelin stars, and important food critics.
During four days, the facilities of the hotel Protur Biomar Gran Hotel & Spa ***** in Sa Coma, Majorca, will offer a programme of workshops, talks & activities that will be the thrill & delight, and a date not to be missed, for all gastronomy lovers.
