Majorca for sports enthusiasts

Mallorca para deportistas

Thanks to its mild climate, typically Mediterranean, and its contrasting landscapes where plains, mountains and a stunning coastline are combined, Majorca has become one of the most popular destinations for sports enthusiasts.

Cycle-tourism is one of the sports that attracts most athletes to the island, with dozens of top cycling teams that choose it as a training headquarters before the season starts, and with hundreds of tourists who love to bike through the Tramuntana’s winding roads, specially during the spring.

Running, has become very fashionable in recent years, has always been one of the traditional sports that have brought many visitors to Majorca. The island hosts numerous official and international marathons and triathlons, gathering during very long weekends, athletes and fans from all over the world.

Climbing and psicobloc (deep-solo) represent the most natural fitting sports in Majorca, since the island is considered to be the best place in the world to practice deep soloing. This is because of its perfect cliffs hanging over the sea, as you can see in Cala Barques on the East coast, very close to the majority of our hotels.

That is why, at Protur Hotels, we have decided to create a small tribute to all those who travel to Majorca with the motivation to practise sports. We have designed special services to fulfil a stay full of stimuli and emotions that include a luxury resort with spa, hotels and apartment with sports at no extra cost, gym, swimming pool, special menus…
