The heat is here, together with the first sun rays, the flippers, the tops… Although you are trying to conceal your excitement, you are eager to go to the beach. But one cannot enjoy a getaway whenever he wants, so we will have to wait until the beginning of summer. From Protur we offer you three tasteful spring dishes that will refresh you and will make the wait more bearable.

Gazpacho.- Andalusian flavour: the gazpacho is a symbol in the south of Spain, a delicious, healthy and refreshing dish which has crossed borders and now can be enjoyed in many other places of the country. However, nothing better than savouring it at the shores of the Mediterranean, in one of the fabulous beaches of Almeria, for example. The recipe is very simple, it includes tomatoes, bread from the previous day, peppers, onion, cucumber and garlic. The ingredients may vary geographically and depending on the dinner guests’ preferences. The elaboration is really easy: you just need to blend all the ingredients with the food processor.

Trempó.- A classic salad typically prepared during the hot months in Majorca. As it happens with the gazpacho, the trempó is made of typical ingredients from the Mediterranean gardens, although if you are looking for an authentic taste, we recommend you use the Majorcan white pepper and onion —with a smoother flavour than other varieties. Cut the tomato, the onion and the pepper, season and blend. Serve it cold with a few slices of Majorcan brown bread.

Tuna salad with citrus fruits.- It is a refreshing and easy recipe ideal for you to stay in shape for the summer. It is essential to choose good pieces of canned tuna, preferably the one kept in glass jars with virgin olive oil. You just need to prepare a good lemon and lime vinaigrette with a touch of pomegranate, orange and a bit of honey. It must be served cold to preserve the flavours and accompanied by a glass of white wine.
